Elizabeth Ahlers Calls Out California Legislature For Dangerous Public Safety Bills
GLENDALE, CA — Elizabeth Wong Ahlers, candidate for California State Senate District 25, spoke out today against a number of dangerous public safety bills. In case you missed it, hundreds of small business owners rallied the Capitol to call out the outrageous policies being pushed by the supermajority.
“As a mother of 6, grandmother of 3, and small business owner, I am deeply concerned about the rising crime rates in our state,” said Ahlers. “These bills would only make our communities less safe and would put our children at risk.”
One of the bills that Elizabeth is opposed to is SB 94, which would allow parole for people who were sentenced to life in prison. “This bill is a slap in the face to victims of crime,” said Ahlers.
“It would allow some of the most dangerous criminals to walk free.”
Elizabeth is also opposed to SB 81, which promotes early release policies. “This bill would let criminals out of prison early, even if they are not ready to be released,” said Ahlers. “This is a recipe for disaster.”
Finally, Elizabeth is opposed to ACA 4, which would allow felons to vote from behind bars.
“This bill would give a voice to criminals who have forfeited their right to participate in our democracy,” said Ahlers.
“I am running for State Senate because I want to make California a safer place for our children” said Ahlers. “I will fight to stop these dangerous bills and to keep our communities safe.” Elizabeth Wong Ahlers is a Mother, community Leader, educator and businesswoman who is running for California State Senate. She has earned major endorsements from political leaders such as Retired Senator Mike Morell, Retired LA County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, Former Mayor of Glendora Judy Nelson, Current Mayor Pro Tem Margaret Clark of Rosemead and dozens more.
